All of our case directors are partners or consultants in Squire Patton Boggs with vast experience of day-to-day and complex pension plan issues. All are either Fellows or Associates of the PMI or have taken and passed the PMI’s Certificate in Pension Trusteeship and/or the Pensions Regulator’s Trustee Toolkit.
Ian Forrest joined the firm in 1987 and joined the Pensions Law Department in 1990 shortly after he qualified. His work involved all aspects of pensions law, but is now focused on professional trusteeship. His clients include public companies, private companies and institutions.
Matthew is a qualified solicitor who has been a pensions specialist for over 15 years. He has provided trusteeship services through the Trustee Corporation work since 2000, and became a director in 2008.
Robert qualified as a solicitor in 1988 and has been a pensions lawyer since 1990. He was a partner with the firm for many years and has been a Director of The Trustee Corporation Ltd since the early 1990s.
Liz qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and has specialized in pensions law ever since. She has been in the Squire Patton Boggs pensions team since 2004, apart from a 4-year period when she headed up the pensions team at North West firm, Brabners.
David has specialised in pensions law since qualifying as a solicitor in 1990. He serves (since 2007) as trustee for two pension schemes with a combined asset value in excess of £350 million.
Having successfully led the Squire Patton Boggs pensions practice group for the last six years, Catherine is now renewing her focus on client and trusteeship work. Her particular expertise is in providing advice on all aspects of pensions law, including advice on managing pension risk and developing creative solutions to assist with funding shortfalls.
Helen is a partner in Squire Patton Boggs’ Pensions Practice Group and has been specialising in pensions law since 1993. She advises trustees of schemes large and small on governance, compliance, investment agreements, scheme mergers, trust documentation and scheme closures.
Philip has been involved in trusteeship work since the 1990s, originally working on pension plans which had to be wound up following corporate insolvency. More recently he has worked on ongoing plans, including pure DC arrangements, but has particular expertise in plans linked to financially distressed sponsors.
